Always room for Milo
Breakfast 8am:
Andy and I were trying everything to get Chelsea to eat her toast for breakfast. Tears.
“I don’t have any room left!”
*Idea!* “Would you like a Milo?”
“Yes please!”
“So if you’ve got room for Milo you’ve got room for another piece of toast.”
“But it won’t fit! I’m full up to here!” indicating top of head.
“So where will you fit your Milo?!”
“I have a little bit of room around my ears…”
The joys of Barbie
Chelsea and Sienna watch (#@$&#!)-Barbie all the time, but there’s a song in one that Chelsea sings to Sienna when she’s crying to calm her down. Amazingly it works a charm. This morning we were going through the usual breakfast-eating dramas with Chelsea, her refusing and crying… next minute Sienna started singing the song to her! missing out a few words, but enough there that we could recognise it! OMG it was priceless!
Sun goes down, and we are here together
Fireflies, glow like a thousand charms
Stay with me, and you can dream forever
Right here in my arms
It’s magic, when you are here beside me
Close your eyes, and let me hold you tight
Everything, that i could ever need
Is right here in my arms

WHAT SIENNA?!
Me: What Sienna?
Sienna: Nothing.
Sienna: WHAT Daddy?
Andy: What Sienna?
Sienna: Nothing.
The Australian National Anthem
Australians all let us rejoice
For we are rich and rare
We’ve golden soil and land for toil
Our home is cursed by sea...

Cheep the Easter Chick
On Monday she took it to school and lost it. That night there were many tears “I miss Cheep!”...
Yesterday I told Mrs Winton (Trish) the sad story and she said she’d have a look for her (Chelsea added she had a missing eye and a broken wing).
This morning there’s an envelope taped to Chelsea’s locker addressed to Chels, inside is a new ‘Cheep’ and a note Trish wrote saying something like ‘Dear Chelsea, I had to go to the chicken hospital to get fixed up. I missed you very much but now I’m back as good as new.’ You’ve never seen such a radiant grin all over Chelsea’s face!! I had tears... I related the story to Sally and she was welling up too!
Gorgeous!

Mother's guilt
When I got home there was this note on my pillow to ‘Mummy’ and inside was a lovely picture of Mummy driving away in the car smiling, love and kisses and hugs… then a picture of Chelsea – crying!!

Hush little baby...
Baby Jesus don’t you cry
Papa’s going to buy you a knocking bird
If that knocking bird knocks away
Papa’s going to buy you a diamond ring
If that diamond ring falls down
Papa’s going to buy you a billy goat
If that billy goat runs away
Papa’s going to buy you a …(insert farm animal)
…etc etc (which all ‘runs away’)

Reading with Sienna
Then we tried:
‘What does a cat say?’
‘meeeeooowoww’
‘Good! what does a dog say?’
‘meeeeoooooww’
‘No, a dog says woof. What does a cow say?’
‘woof! woof!’
Okay. ‘I know, let’s go and play with the ball outside!’
Reading time over.

Cheeky Monkey Gigglebox II
Andy and me: You giggle don’t you?
Chelsea: Yes. But I’m not square! I’m not a box!
Andy and me: Ok. You can’t argue with that.
